There will be a Extraordinary Parish Meeting to discuss the 2018 Precept at 8 pm Thursday 7 December in the VIllage Hall. Everyone is welcome. Please note that it is a single item agenda not a normal Parish Meeting. Chair of the Parish Meeting, David Burke, would welcome your attendance. The letter issued by the Clerk to the Parish Meeting is below, which gives more details:
We are required to submit our request for a precept for financial year 2018/19, by 12 January 2018.
The precept is funding from Vale of White Horse that is paid to the Village to meet required costs (e.g. insurance) and also any projects that the village wishes to undertake. It is added to every property Council Tax bill, based on the banding.
In order to propose a precept to VoWH, we have to calculate the likely cost of outgoings including projects and then recommend a Precept to a Village Meeting for approval. I am aiming to hold a VM for approval of the precept in December.
Currently there a few projects proposed that will need to be funded through the precept
Initial investigation of Neighbour Plan possibility
Potential newsletter to the village, however this is subject to more support
Installation of planters at entrance to village
Improvements to village pound
Completion of installation of batboxes to village pump
If there any changes or additions that anyone would like to propose please let me know this month
