Fernham villager and historian, Tom Arnold placed a wreath, blessed by Rev Norma Fergusson in St John’s Church, on the Thiepval Memorial on the Somme Battlefield to remember Fernham’s fallen in the Battle of the Somme at the recent centenary of the fateful conflict. In one picture (Below, he is pointing to the name of Private Harry Lovesey, once of this parish, whose name is carved on the Thiepval Memorial, as he remains one of ‘the missing’.
