What a result! The annual Fernham Christmas Bazaar took place in the Ferham Village hall, the converted St John’s Church, on Saturday 1 December from 11.00 am to 3 pm. Organised by Wendy Howard with help from Lin Sutherland, folks from far and wide, as well as many villagers, came to see and buy Christmas gifts from the excellent range of stalls. Gifts ranged from beautiful felt pictures, jars of home produced honey,  Christmas cards, antiques and collectables, highly coloured fabric bows and speciality glass through to the Village’s own stall where best-selling children’s author Dr Bill Egginton’s newest publication was on sale with all proceeds going to charity. Bill’s  website is here:

Sales were brisk even if the hall never became crowded. Delicious food was served by Lin Sutherland and her enthusiastic team of helpers (and thanks to everyone who contributed food), while the ever-popular raffle was run by the indefatigable Mike Winter. Thanks to Herbie Kay, Bill and Neil who helped to set up (and take down) the hall. As a result of all the hard work put in by the organisers a total of £252 was raised for Fernham Village Trust, with £25 going to Shelter for their work for the homeless at Christmas. Thank you Wendy and Lin – lovely event – and everyone who supported it.
